Kent had his first foray into the oil and gas industry when he started working summers during college. After graduating college in the late 1970’s he dove into landwork full-time with CM Fleetwood, then moved to Texas Pacific Oil Company after a few years. During his early years, Kent did it all – if he wasn’t examining titles and buying leases, he was settling damages and performing due diligence. He negotiated with other companies, prepared wells, handled division orders, and managed field crews employing dozens of men. After about six years in the business, Kent went to Boswell Energy Corporation as Land Manager where he established their first lease records and management system – a system that handled an annual budget of over 6 million dollars. In the office or out in the field, Kent was responsible for the entire land department supervising 3 Land Techs and over 40 contract Landmen. In 1986, after years of developing oil and gas properties within the Oklahoma City/Edmond city limits, as well as in Colorado, Kansas, Nevada and Texas, Kent struck out on his own establishing R.K. Pinson & Associates, LLC. A dedication to delivering timely and efficient land services while upholding the highest levels of ethics and professionalism has allowed Pinson to thrive for four decades and withstand the dynamic shifts of a market that has consumed lesser companies. Today Kent is still at the helm, setting the standards in the energy industry while serving clients across all of North America.
